He embarked on his career in criminal justice as a Dispatcher/Jailer for Mille Lacs County Sheriff from 1995 to 1996. This early experience laid the foundation for his commitment to maintaining law and order within the community.

Minnesota Public Defender (1996-2009)

In 1996, he transitioned to the Minnesota Public Defender's office, where he honed his skills as a legal professional. Over 13 years, he demonstrated unwavering dedication to the principles of justice, advocating for those who needed it the most.
